The family of a man killed in the Malaysian Airlines MH17 air crash said they are upset none of his personal possessions have been returned.

Ben Pocock, 20, from Bristol, was flying to Australia last July when the plane came down in eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.

His father, Jeremy, said they were feeling "frustrated" at how long the process was taking.

But he appreciated the investigation had to be conducted "methodically".

"We are still waiting for confirmation that the identification process for passengers is complete," Mr Pocock said.

"We are coming up to the first anniversary and there are still families waiting for news of possible further identifications.

"We are sad that despite the best efforts of the recovery specialists other than a few documents we have not been able to retrieve a single item of clothing or other personal possession belonging to Ben."

Their son was studying International Business at Loughborough University and was en-route to spend six months studying at the University of Western Australia in Perth.

Later on Thursday a special "buddy bench" is being unveiled at St John's Primary school in Keynsham, near Bristol, where Ben had been a pupil.
