Bristol display for 19,240 Somme shrouds

An art installation representing nearly 20,000 men who lost their lives in a World War One battle has gone on display at College Green in Bristol.

The installation of hand-stitched shrouded figures represents the 19,240 men who died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

Somerset artist Rob Heard created the installation which was first displayed in July to mark the 100th anniversary of the battle.
