SWX arson: Man charged over fire at Bristol nightclub

A man has been charged over an arson attack at a popular nightclub.

Owen Marshall is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court relating to an investigation into the fire at SWX in Bristol.

The 28-year-old, of Royate Hill, Bristol, faces charges of arson and criminal damage.

The nightclub was days away from re-opening when it was set on fire at about 02:35 BST on 13 July.

Marshall has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.

He is also charged with one count of criminal damage, relating to a window of the Barley Mow pub in Bristol that was damaged, and two counts of making threats to cause criminal damage.

The charges relate to letters sent to Lakota nightclub and a member of the public.
