One person has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a car and a motorbike.
The A38 near Bristol is closed in both directions at Redhill between Bristol Airport and the Holiday Inn after the crash happened at about 13:30 BST.
Traffic queues are building in the area and police are advising motorists to find alternative routes as the road could be closed for some time.
Fire crews, ambulance workers and police officers are all on the scene.
Avon Fire and Rescue said crews from Bedminster and Blagdon had made the scene safe by removing sharp objects and cleaning-up a fuel spillage.
The nearby A370 is also closed at Brockley Lane due to roadworks.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We sent three double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer, a doctor, and an air ambulance and we conveyed one patient by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital."
