A fire which broke out in an office building above a row of shops has now been extinguished.

Eyewitnesses say the fire seemed to be located above the entertainment store Forbidden Planet, in Triangle West in Clifton, Bristol.

Seventeen crews, including a turntable ladder, had attended the scene.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service are advising people to avoid the area as crews work to make the building safe.

Police and ambulance services are also in attendance.

There are no reports of any injuries.

An investigation will now be launched into the cause of the fire.
