Man in hospital and Bristol road closed after stabbing

Officers have closed Gloucester Road at its junction with Bishop Road

A man has been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries following a stabbing.

The man, in his 20s, was found injured on Boxing Day in Bishop Road, Bishopston, Bristol at about 22:50 GMT.

A report was made that a group of people, all dressed in black, were seen running out of Bishop Road into Gloucester Road, police said.

Gloucester Road is closed at its junction with Bishop Road while officers examine the scene.

Avon and Somerset Police said officers and ambulance crews attended the scene.

The force said the man's next of kin are aware.

It is now appealing for information, dashcam footage, CCTV and other footage of anyone acting suspiciously around Bishop Road or Gloucester Road between 22:15 GMT and 23:00 GMT on 26 December.
