Owners have been warned to stay "vigilant" after pills were found hidden inside a piece of meat at a popular dog walking location.
Officers attended Greenbank Cemetery in Bristol on Thursday where they met with a dog walker who found the item.
The item was seized and Police Community Support Officers searched the area but no other similar items were found, police said.
The force said this is an isolated incident and no dogs were harmed.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We are asking dog owners to be vigilant when out on walks.
"We always want to hear about suspicious activity."
