Somerset patients try new weight-loss gastric balloon pill

A Somerset hospital has become the first in the country to give NHS patients a new type of weight-loss pill that contains a gastric balloon.

Patients at Musgrove Park Hospital, in Taunton, swallow the pill which is then filled with water once it reaches their stomach.

Professor Richard Welbourn, a consultant surgeon at the hospital, explains how it works.
