Police believe a food delivery rider seen near the scene of a murder could have "crucial" information.

A 30-year-old man died after being stabbed in the St Pauls area of Bristol at around 20:30 GMT on Tuesday.

Avon and Somerset Police believe the delivery rider, spotted on CCTV, was on Grosvenor Road and Ashley Road around the same time the man was attacked.

A 43-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

Police officers believe Tuesday's attack happened near the junction of Ashley Road and Grosvenor Road, where the victim sustained life-threatening injuries during an altercation, and later died in the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

The man investigators want to speak to is described as wearing black clothing and riding a dark-coloured bicycle, and carrying a large blue food delivery bag.

Senior investigating officer Det Ch Insp Phil Walker said: "Our investigation into Tuesday's incident and the circumstances surrounding it is now well underway.

"We believe this man may have information which could prove crucial and we would urge him to come forward and speak to us.

"I'd also like to stress that we do not believe this man has had any involvement in the incident."
