Football fans from two opposing teams have come together to take part in a 5k park run challenge to show they are "more than just rivals".

Bristol Rovers fan and fitness trainer Grant Rees extended his Gas To 5k Run to Bristol City fans this year.

The challenge took place whilst the Bristol Rovers took on Derby FC in a home match.

Mr Rees said he wanted to harness the power of sport and people's love of football to encourage them to get fit.

"It's a really important time in the city to show, as we've been seen as rivals from a footballing perspective, that we can we can come together," he said.

"Our main aim is to get someone who is inactive to activity," Mr Rees added.

"What we've had today is a number of people who have done their first park run, and 10 weeks ago they started this journey after not exercising for over year."
