Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were hurt

Two men were left with stab injuries in a park after what police believe was an attempted robbery.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to Riverside Park in Easton, Bristol, at 13.15 GMT on Wednesday.

On arrival, officers found two men had sustained injuries - one to their foot and the other to their hand - both were thought to be caused by a blade.

Both went to hospital but were discharged later that same day.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also planning on doing extra patrols.

A police spokesperson said: "Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, but we suspect this may have been an attempted robbery.

"The neighbourhood team is aware and will be carrying out additional patrols as a result."
