Firefighters have been called to a large blaze at an Evri warehouse.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) sent 16 appliances to the site in Boundary Road in Avonmouth, Bristol, after being called at 13:29 BST.

Footage showed flames at the warehouse and large plumes of dark smoke visible from the M5 motorway.

An Evri spokesperson said the fire had been put out by 16:00 and nobody was injured. An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause.

By 15:49, AFRS said eight fire appliances were at the scene and police were also in attendance to help with traffic management.

The fire service said crews had to deal with a ruptured gas pipe while attending the fire.

Evri said its "main priority was ensuring colleagues were safe".

"There were very few parcels at the site at the time with the vast majority of outbound deliveries having left the building.

"We have quickly made plans for alternative arrangements to minimise disruption to deliveries taking place over the next few days," the spokesperson added.
