Dale Adams' prison sentence was extended when he admitted further sex offences

A convicted paedophile has been given an extended jail term after admitting he committed more offences.

A further victim came forward after Dale Adams, 32, was sentenced, in 2010, to 12 years in prison for raping a girl.

During a hearing at Peterborough Crown Court, Adams admitted three counts of rape, and three further charges.

He was sentenced to 12-and-a-half-years in jail to run concurrently with his existing term.

Adams also admitted two counts of of sexual touching and one of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, during the latest hearing on Thursday.

He had originally been jailed for a string of sexual offences, carried out between 1998 and 2005.

'Pure evil'

The new offences all occurred in Orton Malborne, Peterborough, between 2007 and 2010.

Det Con Natalie Bottom, of Cambridgeshire Police, said: "Adams is a dangerous paedophile who targeted a number of children over a prolonged period of time.

"His actions were pure evil and have left a number of victims deeply traumatised. They will have to live with his abuse for the rest of their lives.

"The latest victim showed great bravery in coming forward to ensure he has been brought to justice."

In 2010, Adams was convicted of three counts of indecent assault, rape, sexual activity with a child, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and common assault.

Adams will also be made subject of sexual offences prevention order on his release, banning him from unsupervised contact with children under 16, the court was told.
