A bus driver was injured when his vehicle came off the Cambridgeshire guided busway and crashed into a wall.

The driver, a man in his 50s, was treated at the scene but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

The bus operator, Whippet Coaches, said the two other people on board were not injured and that nobody needed to be taken to hospital.

The company added it was "working hard with the authorities" and had managers at the scene.

The Cambridgeshire guided busway, which connects Cambridge with Huntingdon and St Ives, opened in 2011.

It carries thousands of passengers in and out of Cambridge every day, with buses running on specially-designed concrete tracks.

In February 2016, six people were injured when a bus crashed off the busway between Addenbrooke's Hospital and Trumpington.
