Peterborough man Faisal Khan charged with attempted murder of boy

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a nine-year-old boy who was repeatedly stabbed and has life-changing face and head injuries.
The child was attacked in Peveril Road, Peterborough at about 15:25 BST on Saturday.
Cambridgeshire Police said the boy remained in a stable condition.
Faisal Khan, 24, from Almond Road, Dogsthorpe, has appeared before magistrates in Peterborough and is due at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday.
Mr Khan has also been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.
Police said the boy was walking with his brother at the time of the attack and sustained multiple wounds to his head.
The inquiry team said the victim and the accused were not known to each other.
