Covid-19: How will I know if I have Omicron?

A virologist has been answering questions about the testing process for Omicron.

Current rules mean contacts of new variant cases in England will have to self-isolate, even if fully vaccinated.

BBC Look East presenter Janine Machin put viewers' concerns to Dr Chris Smith from the University of Cambridge.

He was asked how someone with a confirmed case of Covid-19 would know it was the latest variant and whether lateral flow tests could detect it.
