Man dies after hit and run in Peterborough

Two people have been arrested after a man died in a suspected hit and run collision.
The man, in his 30s, was walking along a footpath in Paston Ridings, Peterborough at about 20:30 BST on Thursday when he fell into the road.
A car, believed to be a Renault Megane, turned from Hallfields Lane, onto Paston Ridings and collided with the man before driving off, police said.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police and paramedics attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cambridgeshire Police said a 45-year-old man from Crowland in Lincolnshire has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
A 64-year-old woman, also from Crowland, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision, the force said.
Both remained in custody.
Det Insp Garry Webb, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts (BCH) Road Policing Unit, said: "This is an incredibly sad incident where a man in his 30s has lost his life and we are doing all we can to investigate, but we need the public's help.
"We are appealing for witnesses, dash cam footage and anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a dark Renault Megane to get in touch."
