Peterborough: Man in hospital after 'serious' assault in city centre

A man in his 20s is in hospital after he suffered a "serious assault" in Peterborough city centre.
The ambulance service and police were called to Fitzwilliam Street at 03:20 BST on Sunday.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "The man in his 20s remains in a stable condition in hospital. At this time, we can only say it's a serious assault."
The spokesperson confirmed a previous police cordon had been removed.
No arrests have been made.
"Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for information," the spokesperson added.
