A five-month project to improve a junction will begin on Monday.

Work will commence on Edgerley Drain Road, at its junction with Storey's Bar Road and Vicarage Farm Road, in the Fengate area of Peterborough.

Peterborough City Council said the junction would be widened to include a dedicated right-hand turn lane on Storey's Bar Road.

The plan will also see upgraded traffic signals and a shared use cycle and footway on Edgerley Drain Road.

It is expected that the upgrade will be complete by the end of March 2024.

The council said the improvements would "compliment" work to also improve two other projects on the nearby Oxney Road.

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Authority awarded Peterborough City Council £6.6m for all of the works in broader Fengate area. This final project will cost in the region of £1.8m, the council said.
