Police have arrested a tractor driver after a 68-year-old woman died in a crash on the A10 in Cambridgeshire.

They said it happened on the stretch between Littleport and Downham Market, Norfolk, at about 14:50 GMT on Tuesday.

The woman, from Littleport, was driving a Ford Focus at the time when it became involved in a collision with two tractors.

A 40-year-old man, from King's Lynn, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and bailed.

Emergency services attended the crash site, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Det Sgt Craig Wheeler said: "A woman has tragically lost her life in this collision and my thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision, or any of the vehicles prior to it, to please get in touch."
