A paedophile who covertly filmed children has been jailed.

Kyle Spires, 35, of St Peters Road in March, Cambridgeshire, pleaded guilty to six charges, which included making indecent photographs of a child and voyeurism.

There were also 359 images and three videos of a woman taken without her knowledge.

Spires was jailed at Peterborough Crown Court for 28 months and given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Spires uploaded an indecent image of a child on the internet in June 2021.

After police became aware he was arrested at a property in March on 22 January 2022.

A mobile phone was seized containing footage Spires had filmed of a child covertly. It also held 359 images and three videos of a woman, taken without her knowledge.

Spires refused to give login details for a mobile phone, despite repeated court orders.

'Incredible arrogance'

He also failed to comply with Sex Offenders Register requirements that said he needed to inform police if he stayed at a property where under 18s were present for at least 12 hours, and tell police of a new address within three days of moving.

On Friday 1 December, Spires also pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon in public, relating to a knuckleduster.

Det Sgt George Neal said: "Spires is clearly a danger to women and children so I am pleased he has faced justice.

"During this investigation he has shown incredible arrogance and disregard for the law."
