Peterborough driver reverses at speed to try to evade police
Dashcam footage showed a man refusing to stop for police by reversing the entire length of a street then leading an officer on a high-speed pursuit.
The driver was seen mounting a kerb and narrowly avoiding a collision with another car in the Millfield area of Peterborough on 15 November, before telling police he did not realise they were trying to stop him.
He pleaded guilty to failing to stop for police and not providing a blood sample in custody after a roadside drugs test was positive for cannabis.
He was disqualified from driving for three years and eight months at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court and told to pay a £500 fine.
