A city hopes to attract private investment with an album cover-inspired brochure - and a hip message.

Peterborough City Council said its prospectus - entitled "Peterborough - Talking 'bout Regeneration" reflected its ambitious redevelopment proposals.

They include building more city centre accommodation and the multi-million pound Station Quarter project.

Peterborough has "connectivity, a skilled workforce and modern infrastructure" in abundance, it said.

The black and white photo front resembles a retro album cover with a graffitied backdrop, and is "branded with inspiration from British Rock", the authority said.

A total of £65m is due to be spent on the area around Peterborough railway station as part of the Government's Levelling-Up agenda - providing homes, business space, and improving accessibility.

Old car parks are also earmarked for development into housing.

'Changing environment'

The prospectus also highlights the council's ambition to increase skills among workers, enhance connectivity, and improve infrastructure.

Peterborough First councillor Peter Hiller, cabinet member for housing, growth and regeneration, said: "Peterborough is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and this prospectus sets out our vision as a city of outstanding opportunity.

"We understand that connectivity, a skilled workforce, modern infrastructure, funding, and support is key for investors and occupiers - something we can offer in abundance.

"Peterborough's built environment is changing for the future and the prospectus brings together the diverse array of opportunities. We hope this ever-involving guide will be received with enthusiasm and excitement."
