A man has been charged after a scooter rider was seriously injured in a crash.

The boy, 15, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge after the collision in Back Lane, Cambourne, at about 21:00 GMT on Wednesday.

An Audi A4 was later found partially burnt about four miles away (6km) in Highfields Caldecote, Cambridgeshire Police said.

A 32-year-old, of no fixed address, was due to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

He is accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of justice.

Sgt Mark Atkins asked for anyone with information to get in touch, such as those with dashcam or video doorbell footage that featured the Audi.
