Vulcan bomber thrills Cornwall's Culdrose day crowd

A Vulcan bomber has been one of the highlight of the RNAS Culdrose air day.
The appearance of the Cold War bomber was one of a number of attractions to draw in the crowds at the show in Helston, Cornwall.
The 1960-built aircraft was designed to protect the UK from nuclear threat and saw action in the Falklands War before being withdrawn from service in 1984.
It was restored to flying condition in 2008 after a £7m fundraising campaign.
Important role
The annual air day at Culdrose is a chance for the public to see what life is like at a military naval air station which plays a key role in search and rescue missions.
Its helicopter squadrons also support the Royal Navy across the world.
The air day features exhibitions, trade stands and numerous air displays.
Jets and helicopters from British and overseas armed forces are also taking part in the air day and entertainment is being provided by a number of military units, including the Royal Marines Band and the Flying Gunners Motorcycle and Royal Navy Raiders Parachute display teams.
