Bodmin Moor church looks for bat damage answers

Members of a church in Cornwall are trying to decide how to deal with damage caused by bats in the building.

Droppings and urine from bats roosting in Temple Church on Bodmin Moor have damaged pews, brasses and linen, the Reverend Canon Sherry Bryan said.

All bats in the UK and their roosts are protected by law.

Canon Bryon said that the Diocese of Truro building was facing bills of "thousands and thousands of pounds" if a solution could not be found.

She said: "Anything that can't be cleaned, you can't leave out.

"It does stain and corrode everything it touches really."
