Cornish stadium plans not in capital programme

No public money is to go towards the building of a stadium for Cornwall for the time being, Cornwall Council says.
Councillor Fiona Ferguson proposed the Cornwall Sports Village was not included in the authority's capital programme.
Her amendment was approved during the debate on the council's emergency budget and business plan last week.
However, the council said that work on a £78,000 feasibility study into the project was to continue.
Proposals for the stadium include 4,500 seats for sporting events and a capacity of 10,000 for events such as music concerts.
The study, which is to include a business plan and will identify facilities and possible tenants, will be finalised in the New Year, the council said.
Truro and Threemilestone were put forward as possible locations in the initial findings of the study.
During the full council meeting last Friday, councillors approved plans for £170m of savings over four years.
