£5m expansion for Newquay business

A north Cornwall medical product manufacturer has been awarded £1.4m convergence funding to expand its operations.

It is estimated that the scheme, for Pall Newquay, will cost just under £5m and will create about 60 jobs at their St Columb base.

The company claims more production can now be centralised at St Columb.

Director, Andrew Holland said the investment would position the site as a "world leader in medical products".

Carleen Kelemen, Director of the Convergence Partnership Office for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, said the significant investment was to "support higher value jobs and skills through the expansion of an internationally respected business".

Pall Newquay is a subsidiary of the Pall Corporation, a New York-based leader in the purification, filtration and separation industries.
