Going underground at South Crofty tin mine

A plan to restart tin mining in Cornwall has been given a boost, with further investment from North America.

Canadian and US investors have increased their stake in the South Crofty mine at Pool to 25%.

It closed in 1998 after the price of tin hit an all-time low, but Western United Mines took ownership of South Crofty in May.

Tens of millions of pounds will have to be spent before tin mining can begin and BBC cameras were given a rare tour underground.
