Calls to the out-of-hours doctors service in Cornwall are being delayed by technical problems.
Service provider Serco said it was was offering a call-back service, but waiting times to get through "may be longer than normal".
Serco, which has run the service since 2006, said patients could get medical advice from NHS Direct.
Patients should consider using emergency services only for very urgent cases.
The firm said BT engineers were working on fixing the problem and a further announcement would be made when calls were back to normal.
