A girl has died after collapsing at a school in Cornwall, police have said.
The seven-year-old pupil collapsed at Perranporth School at around lunchtime and was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The circumstances are not known but are not suspicious, according to Devon and Cornwall Police which said it would carry out an investigation.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with the girl's family at this time," said a force spokesman.
The school sports day which was due to be held on Thursday has been cancelled, the BBC understands.
A parent said an email was sent out by the school at around 16:00 BST to inform parents of the cancellation but no reason was given.
