A cow has been rescued from a slurry pit during a huge fire which destroyed a barn.

A "large plume of smoke" was reported in the Kilkhampton area of Bude, Cornwall, and residents were advised to keep windows and doors shut.

Attempts to tackle the blaze and "large animal rescue" on Sunday morning involved 35 firefighters from the Cornwall and Devon and Somerset services.

Police also attended.
