A fire has erupted in a building on the seafront at St Ives.

The blaze broke out on Friday evening in the area around Wharf Road and Market Strand, with pictures showing it appearing to hit buildings near the lifeboat station

Crews from at least seven stations in Cornwall rushed to the scene, closing off the area around Lifeboat Hill.

People have been warned to stay away from the area while the fire is extinguished and the building made safe.
