Devon and Cornwall Police said Jack Thomas was last seen near a major roundabout on the A30

Police searching for a missing man in Cornwall have found a body.

Devon and Cornwall Police had been looking for Jack Thomas after he was last seen near the Chiverton Cross roundabout early on Sunday.

Officers said they began looking for the 21-year-old after they understood he had been travelling in a vehicle involved in a "serious collision".

Police said a body had been found in the Chiverton area, near Truro, and Mr Thomas's family had been informed.

The body was located at about 12:55 BST.

Officers said formal identification had yet to take place but the family of Mr Thomas "have been informed of this development".

The death was not being treated as suspicious and a file was being prepared for the coroner, they added.

The force said: "Officers would like to thank members of the public for assisting in area searches."
