A 17-year old girl has died after being hit by a car on a road in Cornwall.
Officers were called to reports of a silver Mitsubishi Colt having struck a pedestrian on the A388 in Callington at about 17:50 GMT on Wednesday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
The girl died after being rushed to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
The force said the driver stopped to assist police with inquiries and thanked members of the public who helped at the scene.
Detectives appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
Ch Insp Simon Jenkinson said: "This is a truly tragic incident, and our thoughts go out to the girl's family and friends who we will continue to support."
