While Thursday night will be another cold night with a widespread frost, it is not expected to be as cold as Tuesday or Wednesday night as slightly milder air comes in from the west
Snow has fallen in a number of areas in Cornwall - including Penzance, Padstow, St Ives and Truro.
Temperatures dropped as low as -9C in parts of the region overnight and gritters have been working to treat roads.
A yellow weather warning for snow and ice, issued by the Met Office, was in place until 11:00 GMT.
A separate yellow weather warning for strong winds has been extended until 06:00 GMT on Monday.
Forecasters said over the weekend the UK would see much milder Atlantic air coming in along with rain and strong winds
The UK Health Security Agency has issued an amber cold weather alert for England this week
Steve Bayley, the network manager for Cormac, warned drivers to take care on the roads.
He said: "Obviously the sun's out, so things will hopefully warm up in the next few hours, but then from early evening really, we're going to get temperatures again that are down to zero on roads surfaces, so we're likely to be out salting this afternoon and then potentially overnight as well."
Mr Bayley said drivers could encounter ice on untreated roads.
"Where it is snowing and where we do get some sleet, that's obviously falling onto surfaces that are already sub-zero, so there's potential for ice on more minor roads, where obviously they haven't been treated."
While the cold health alert is in place, the NHS is expected to come under extra pressure
Snow has settled in particular on higher ground in the county
