Yellow warning for ice in Cornwall issued by Met Office

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are being urged to take care after an ice warning is issued for Cornwall.

The Met Office said temperatures, external could drop to -4C overnight and the ice warning came into force at 18:00 GMT and lasts until 10:00 on Friday.

Drivers are being warned of possible travel disruption due to icy patches on roads that have not been gritted.

Cyclists and pedestrians are being warned of possible injuries due to slippery cycle paths and footpaths.

The Met Office said drivers should check their wipers, tyres and screenwash before setting off and keep speeds down.

It is also advising walkers to use pavements along main roads and cyclists to stick to main roads where possible to avoid slipping.
