Newquay business leaders launch rebrand of town

Business leaders have launched a new brand for Newquay to help promote it to tourists and people living there.
The "Love Newquay" or "Love NQY" brand aims to showcase the development of the resort town.
Love Newquay will be the consumer face of Newquay Business Improvement District (Bid) and a sister brand to Visit Newquay.
Bid Manager Mark Warren said: "People need to look at Newquay in a different light because we've really moved on."
'Amazing businesses'
He said: "In my mind Newquay has grown up now.
"We've got a lot of great adventurous things going on, great culinary experiences going on and we don't really share it that much.
"It's all about families and adventures and it's not just about the sea.
"We have some amazing businesses and attractions people can experience all year round."
Mr Warren said the town had moved on and "already got away" from its reputation as a party hot spot.
He said: "What we do have is a great night-time culture.
"It means people can come out and have a great meal and some cocktails and have a little dance.
"It's not a stag and hen do town anymore."
'Behind the scenes'
The new digital promotion for Love Newquay will feature updated itineraries for visitors, business listings and events.
It will also provide an overview of the behind-the-scenes work of the Love Newquay team so residents and tourists can see the evolution of the project.
Veryan Palmer, director of The Headland Cornwall, said: "Newquay has always been one of the UK's favourite holiday destinations.
"Just focusing and re-strengthening our brand means that we again still stand head and shoulders above the rest of the towns and villages on the coastline of Cornwall and the rest of the UK."
