Bodmin students and firms join forces for hospital garden

Students and businesses have helped open a hospital garden to more people.
New raised planters have been created at Bodmin Community Hospital's garden so they can be accessed by people in wheelchairs.
The planting area at the Community Assessment Treatment Unit (CATU) was designed and made by students from Bodmin College.
The materials were donated by local businesses.
Students were provided with materials, including wood and compost which was donated by RGB Building Supplies and Bond Timber.
Yaz Andrews, ward manager at CATU, said the new planters were "absolutely fantastic".
"It's wonderful that as a community we have come together to create these areas for patients to enjoy," she said.
Students Axel, Emily and Toby took about two months to make the planters.
"It was something really nice to do," said Axel.
"It feels really good that we're doing something for people that are not well.
"They have got something to do while they're here, so they're not just sat in a room bored."
Peter Derry, of RGB Building Supplies, said: "Bodmin Hospital is very close to my heart.
"My father was in Garner Ward and I've experienced the hospital and wonderful things it does."
