New trailers boost firefighting in Herm
- Published
Firefighters in Herm have two new fire trailers to replace the original units that are 20 years old.
Each trailer has a pump that can deliver up to 1,000 litres per minute of water, the fire service said.
There are 2,000 litres of water on one unit to take immediate action until another source is found.
Chief fire officer Jon Le Page said the trailers would allow firefighters to "respond rapidly to any incident that might occur on the island".
The two trailers were designed and built by Emergency One in the UK.
