A multi-million pound project to refurbish a well-known Coventry park starts on Monday.
It is the first time improvement work has been carried out on Coventry's War Memorial Park since it opened 90 years ago.
About 30 different projects are being carried out, including the refurbishment of the Pavilion.
The park consists of two areas, a formal garden with the War Memorial and a sports facilities area.
'Completely modernised'
Sidney Feegrade, from the Friends of War Memorial Park, said: "The main changes will be the repairs to the memorial.
"We'll have a bigger surround around the memorial so that people can actually stand without getting on the grass.
"Then there's the Pavilion - the Pavilion will be completely modernised and the inside is going to be completely refurbished."
The park opened in 1921 as a tribute to those who died in World War I.
