Water giants new headquarters open in Coventry

Severn Trent Water's new multi-million pound headquarters has opened in Coventry.

Some 1,700 staff will eventually be based at the building after the firm relocated from Sheldon in Birmingham.

The firm said the new building would have an energy saving theme, including a facility to recycle rainwater.

The offices, which have been partly funded by Advantage West Midlands, have been built on a former car park in St John's Street.

Plans were first submitted in 2008 when the cost was predicted to be £36m.
