Nuneaton Town football chairman charges dropped

A football boss arrested and charged with assault has had the case against him dropped.

Ian Neale, chairman of Nuneaton Town, has been bound over to keep the peace for 12 months.

In a statement on his club's website he said he was "saddened" that a domestic incident had led to court.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of assault in November. He said he was pleased the Crown Prosecution Service had dropped criminal charges.

"I now wish to close this chapter in my life and move on in the future and concentrate on my family, business and the football club," he said.

The charges were dropped at Nuneaton Magistrates Court.
