Coventry bus route upgrade in £2.3m scheme

A Coventry bus route has been improved following a £2.3m programme.

Bus lanes were added in the number 13 scheme between Coventry city centre and Holbrooks via Jubilee Crescent.

Measures included upgrading 41 bus stops and installing real-time passenger information at 10 of the busiest stops.

West Midlands passenger transport authority Centro said between the city centre and Holbrooks peak time journeys have been cut by about five minutes.

It added the scheme was part of the Prime Lines project, a joint initiative also involving the city council and National Express Coventry, which has reduced journey times across the city.

Stephen Rhodes, passenger services director at Centro, said: "Improvements have already been delivered on several key bus routes across the city thanks to the scheme.

"These have proved very successful in helping buses be quicker and more reliable, providing better information and making services more accessible."
