Warwickshire bus service changes to come in
- Published
Several bus services across Warwickshire are set to be cut after the county council's subsidy has almost halved.
Many evening services , externalhave been withdrawn from Tuesday and others revised following a review by the Conservative-led council.
The council has said its government grant for subsidising bus services is being reduced from £3m to £1.65m.
The council has to save about £66m over the next three years.
A spokesman said the authority had been looking at which bus services could reach the most passengers for less money due to budget reductions following the full budget being agreed in February.
"Following the decision taken at full council, officers are having to make substantial revisions to the passenger transport network to ensure that the level of financially supported local bus services provided meets the needs of as many people as possible, but remains within budget."
Community transport, which costs the council up to £200,000 a year, will be extended for another year through extra government funding, the council added.
