Jobs pledge at £40m Ansty Park research centre

A new £40m manufacturing research centre near Coventry says it plans to recruit up to 250 people by 2014.
The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) has moved into new premises on Ansty Park.
It is hoped the new jobs will help replace the 700 lost when electronics firm Ericsson said in 2009 it was leaving the site.
A centre spokesman said the aim was to convert university innovation for use by firms in Coventry and Warwickshire.
'Develop concepts'
Up to 30 people are employed at the centre which they plan to expand to 60 by next April.
Areas of work at the centre, close to junction 2 of the M6, will look at include robotics, electronics and tooling and fixturing.
"We want to take a concept and move it onto industry by getting our engineers to talk to firms' engineers to test and validate first so it can go into use without extra cost for manufacturers," the spokesman added.
The park is owned by Advantage West Midlands (AWM) which is being abolished and replaced by Local Enterprise Partnerships.
Ericsson withdrew its research and development and global service delivery at the site in 2010.
