Former Warwickshire Police HQ and stations to be sold

The force announced in January that it would sell the former headquarters in Leek Wootton

The former headquarters of Warwickshire Police is to go on the market in the new year.

The force announced plans to sell the stately home in Leek Wootton in January 2011, as it aimed to make savings of more than £20m over four years.

The announcement was part of a wider review of police buildings in the county.

Five other police stations are due to be put on the market in the next few weeks.

The other stations that will be put up for sale by property company Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) are in Coleshill, Alcester, Warwick, Wellesbourne and a long-term lease at Henley-in-Arden.

The company said it had been instructed to market the former headquarters and five stations which "had been identified as surplus to the police authority's requirements".

John Hinton from LSH said: "We anticipate interest in these prominently located sites to be strong as they all provide attractive commercial or residential redevelopment opportunities."
