Thieves have used a digger to smash through a wall and steal a cash machine at a Coventry supermarket.

They punched a large hole in the Spar shop on the Bannerbrook industrial estate, in Banner Lane, at about 01:10 GMT.

West Midlands Police said several people then loaded the machine onto a flat-bed lorry before driving off.

Officers have urged anyone who witnessed the incident in the early hours to come forward.
