An appeal to raise money for more hospice nurses has now reached £60,000 - enough money for a second nurse.

BBC Coventry & Warwickshire said the figure for its Myton hospices campaign covers paying for recruiting, training and supporting two nurses for a year.

A total of £60,000 has been already banked or pledged.

The hospice said each new nurse would care for 43 extra patients. The 12-month appeal was launched in October 2011 and reached £30,000 in February.
