A project to restore a 12th Century former school in Coventry and incorporate it into a museum has been given a £4.6m lottery grant.

Coventry Transport Museum said the Grade I listed Old Grammar School was to be turned into an exhibition, event and education centre.

The money would also improve existing museum facilities, it said.

Work on the school, which it said had been unused for 30 years, is due to be completed by April 2015.
